Started by Chet Thomas and Adam Dyet, Darkstar Skateboards came into existence in 1997. Dakine is currently operating under Dwindle Distribution. Beginning as a skateboard wheel company, Darkstar Skateboards has since then expanded into an entire company offering tons of products. Darkstar is known for their skateboards made with 9 layers of plywood, making Darkstar boards stronger, thicker, and heavier. Dwindle Distribution is owned by Globe International Limited, in El Segundo, California and president Bod Boyle, World Skateboard Champion in 1990. Dwindle is the largest skateboard manufacturing company and distributor within the industry.
